There are 8222 islands within Australia’s Maritime Borders.  Having different cultures & climates, they are each in a world of their own.  Some of the islands are just a short hop from the mainland while others are way out in the Pacific, Indian and Southern Oceans.

Currency:  Australian Dollar

Language: English

Visa: ETA Tourist visa for up to three months for all except New Zealand Citizens

Power:

230 volts AC.  Plug  types l 

Safety: Safe in general. Normal precautions should be taken.  Water is dangerous so beware of your own capabilities and swim between the flags.  Do not enter water in the far north unless there are signs saying it is safe to do so.

TRANSPORT:

Some Islands can be visited by boat, but the majority need to be accessed by plane.

Weather is dependant on the island visited.  Some are tropical and then everything from that to Antarctic climate.

Again dependant on the island, but most are more expensive than mainland Australia.
